I was hiking on the AT trail for the weekend and came across this restaurant which advertised "food for all people". They should have also said "EXCEPT FOR HIKERS". I asked for a table, and a place to charge my cell phone, and was told I had to leave my backpack outside along with my hiking poles. My equipment is valued at over $3,000 and I did not feel comfortable leaving my $200 hiking poles and my pack outside, so I asked if I could place them in the coat room, which was empty. "NO, outside", About three restaurant employees came up while I was waiting to be seated, to ask me if I wanted Brunch, Yes, and a place to charge my phone, suspicion, and they took their time even thinking about seating me. This restaurant was not busy, I saw one other customer eating there. This is Sunday morning, didn’t look so successful to me. With reluctance, I took my backpack outside, but was so uncomfortable leaving it there, I decided I would not eat at this restaurant. I politely told them I did not feel comfortable leaving my equipment, and would not eat there. I was in crisis mode with my cell phone battery and needed to contact my husband so he knew where to pick me up that evening, and my battery backup was dead. I am sure you understand how that is when you are down to 10% power and you need to contact someone. There was a power plug outside on the side of the building, so I plugged my cell phone into that, and sat down close by, and an employee walked outside and told me that the plug is for PAYING CUSTOMERS only.

If I came in with a Gucci bag that was on my back, (they do come in backpacks you know) would I have to leave that outside as well? My backpack, and gear cost more than my Gucci bag, so I can only think that you are discriminating against hikers. Fair enough, put a sign outside at let us know, so we don’t walk up to your restaurant and think you will treat us well.

Really? I wanted to be a paying customer, yet you denied me if I wanted to keep my backpack and poles with me. How mean spirited can you get? I was not scruffy looking. Yes, I had left my 6 carat diamond ring, and 35 carat pendant at home, so I may not have looked like the plush people you wanted to attract to your "fancy" restaurant at that time, but I was dressed neatly for hiking. I may not have driven up in my Porsche, merely hiked up in my hiking boots, but I had plenty of cash to pay for my meal, and even a credit card with a $30,000 credit limit. So please explain why I was discriminated against? I am a 67 year old woman, I had hiking poles, if they were walking sticks, would I have had to leave them outside as well? Are you telling me that anyone who tries to eat at your establishment and needs poles, sticks, canes, walkers, needs to leave them all outside? How did you know what I needed to assist me in my mobility?

Not only do you discriminate, but you don't have signs up anywhere to let me know that you will be disdainful to anyone who does not meet your desired clientele criteria. I was embarrassed, I have NEVER in my lifetime been treated so shabbily by a restaurant. I understand you may have been treated badly by AT hikers in the past, but own up to your discriminating ways and let us know. All I can do is vote with my pocket book, and my voice. Shame on you!!!!!

Excellent food in a historic building older than our country. A fine dinning experience with country size portions. Great wine selections also. A top class place for romantic, business and family dinners.

We met our relatives for Thanksgiving Dinner 2017. I was told the restaurant was pretty good. Well our experiences were not so good. To start off I had to ask for ice tea three times before it was delivered. My aunt ordered Turkey with the gravy on the side. My wife and I ordered the Prime Rib. We both like prime rib cooked medium. (little pink in center). The meal was delivered and my aunts dinner went back because gravy was poured over the turkey and stuffing. My wife's prime rib was cooked well done and even difficult to cut with the knife provided. My prime rib was also cooked well done, again I had to cut it like I was sawing a board. My uncle ordered stuffed flounder and he said it was excellent. The prime rib would have went back but we had already waited 40 minutes for the meal the first time. We will not be going back there.

We went with a friend for breakfast with a group service was great and food was terrific! Beautiful view of the mountains out patio room, service lots of history there 2

I've booked reservations to dine on Thanksgiving for the last 3 years. Pointless, as when you arrive you have to stand around for at least 45 minutes to wait for seating. So many people waiting that there was no seating available while waiting for the entire 45 minutes. The place is extremely small and can't handle a small crowd comfortably. Food is average, nothing fantastic, prices are slightly on the high side. Wait staff is excellent. Can't say that about the one owner. She is rude, short, obnoxious and impatient. Decided this is my last year dining here.
