I have kayaked this twice and both times it's been a perfect mix of peaceful floating along incredibly scenic countryside and moments of small, but challenging rapids and flows. The owner is laid back and very flexible on pick up times and will provide as much guidance as requested.
Absolutely horrible experience!
3:15 rolled around and we still hadn’t heard from him so we decided to send him a text and see if he was on his way. We waited roughly 20 minuets longer and decided to just ride back down to the place and see if he was there. Surprise surprise he wasn’t. We figured maybe he was running a little late so we walked down the river and went looking for crayfish. By 4:20 we had yet to hear back from him and was getting kinda annoyed so we gave him one more call. When he picked up we stated that “we had been waiting for over a hour and a half and was wondering if he was on his way back yet” he said that “he was out on the water with another group and that he wouldn’t be able to make it back to take us out” this was very frustrating because we tried our hardest to acomidate him when WE were the customers!
I am exstreamly upset with the lack of professionalism we exsperianced and highly encourage others to spend a little extra money to go somewhere else
Beautiful scenery, BUT price on website and true price were completely different. Charged $70 for a two person canoe and was told it was only $20 a person. Equipment was crap and broken down. Seats broke while canoeing. And one seat was held up with a dang volleyball which later broke further. Paddles were broken and the canoe I had leaked very bad. I don't see how anyone gave this 5 stars.... Definitely a sketchy situation.
My girlfriend and I called around 11AM to get pricing and see what trails were available. The prices were lower than other places in the area so we decided to finish up our shopping and head over to ACC to rent a kayak. Upon a rival at 1:45 we notice that the place looked very rundown and the equipment was kinda all over the place, But I’ve been promising to take me girlfriend kayaking for the past few months so we decided to give it a shot. We walked around the property looking for the owner but after 10/15 minuets of looking we decided to call. The owner picked up and said that kayak rentals “were by appointment only and that he was at the grocery store with his wife” he also said that “he could make it back by 2:45” we told him “we lived close by and didn’t want him to have to rush that he could just text us when he was on is way back. He agreed and said “ok”
I do not like to write negative reviews but this place deserves one. We paid $80 really to just borrow two leaking kayaks. I am upset that we wanted to spend the day together kayaking and both of our kayaks leaked. My husband's kayak leaked so bad he had to get out every few minutes and dump it out. It wasn't just our kayaks- a lady that finished before us told us hers leaked also. My husband called and we were given $20 back and 50% off another visit which why would we ever come back?!!!!! Not acceptable.
Great experience for my family and I! We enjoyed the adventure and hospitality so much the first day, that we went back for a second trip! Cannot put into words how much we appreciate Greg and Mike's kindness in making our vacation such a great family memory! It's not always about having the newest and fanciest equipment that makes for a great adventure! Thanks guys!
